I'd like to see the V10 AVERAGE 13mpg and any Diesel AVARAGE 18MPG!
Phhhhttt! Put a real challenge out there. I've averaged 19+ mpg with my 7.3L for years and drive it daily around town (2WD 6-speed manual). And that was before any mods.
And how did this post contribute to this thread? None what so ever but I'm not suppose to post anything other then things to contribute to any threads.

Does the V10 have anything to do with this thread? Nope. You brought it up.
You're trolling for reactions. My statement to Bill was meant as a warning to everyone in this thread - don't feed the troll.
So you've got 4.88 gears then? Steep!!! You'll never see the mileage I do with 3.73s, but then, I can't tow like you. We all know that gearing plays a big part in towing, but 400/800 STOCK??? WOW. I drove one a few weeks back... VERY quiet with excellent gittyup. I had an '88 F350 dually with a 7.3 & 5speed that would get left for dead in a race, but towed just about anything. These HP wars are in part marketing, but also to feed the egos of buyers. My truck might make 300ish HP. Dandy, and plenty enough to do the work I ask of her.
I forgot to mention that Ford did this with their own money.
Not really. Almost all engines produced by the big 3 are in some way funded by the government through grants and such. the only difference is that it is not court ordered...
But don't feel bad, almost all car manufactures do it, Germany give BMW, Benz, and VW money. Japan gives crap loads of money to Toyota and some to Honda. Everyone gets money from their respective governments, if they didn't they would fall behind, layoff people, and jobs would be lost. Lost jobs, for what ever reason, are never good for the political party in power, so that party makes sure those companies stay competitive with others throughout the world.

Probably not 488's in a 2011 Cab/Chassis F450 6.7. Most 2011 Cab/chassis F450 PSD's I see are now equipped with 4.10's The Cab/Chassis trucks won't get 400/800, they are severely neutered in power compared to the pickups.
