I used all the 385/735 on a hill climb east of Evanston, WY last weekend for about 60 seconds. Came out of a construction zone and all three lanes opened up at the bottom of a decent hill climb. A Dodge pulling a light-weight travel trailer pulled into the lane left behind me to pass, smoke rolling like crazy behind him. I stepped into the throttle for fun with my much heavier 11K lb toy hauler fully loaded and ran away from him cresting the hill at 80 mph. I said, "whoa, better slow down" and backed off. A couple of minutes later the Dodge with the ever-so-impressive Cummins (sarcasm) finally passed me rolling coal the whole time. I had a very satisfying smile on my face...

400/800? Wow, that will be something!

If it would mean reducing my mpg's or putting extra wear on my engine then I don't want it.

With a 100hp tune on my 6.0 the mileage was as good as stock. It was a ton of fun to drive. I find that with the diesels I have owned so far, the mileage is directly connected to the right foot. Ford has left a lot of power under the table on this engine. I would not worry about reliability issues if FMC ups the power for us.

So IF we job 1 owners get this update, who is going to test this first? haha.

That one guy in the comments seemed excited about the #2 point, EGR only on the Cummins. That would mean more EGR is required to keep up with emission standards.
Oh well, I needed a good laugh today.

Not to pee in everyone's Cheerios but if hardware and software are involved in the upgrade, I wouldn't count on Ford just having the work done for free. Probably not even at all. They'll want you to buy new trucks!

We have been ****ed on the sync upgrades untill now. Somebody had a lawyer contact them and they got scared so were getting full sync upgrades end of august. Dont know about the ECU upgrade yet.I dont expect it to be a major hardware upgrade. I think its just remapped fuel diagrams and upping the boost as from what ive heard from a few sources the turbo can give us upto 37lb of boost on the big 6.7L at peak.

<--- total newbie

how does a person find out what "upgrades" are available and will work with a person's truck ?? or is it just a matter of watching the forum then running out to the dealer ??

thanks and sorry for the newbie question.
