Goofy CPS Issue?

Driving to work the other morning in the dark in the early AM I thought I hit a small animal that I didn't see at about 75 MPH. So now that I am fully awake, the engine occasionally cuts out very briefly, like bumping the key off and immediately back on. This is reflected in the Tach as well. The further along that I go the more frequent it becomes. With some expirementing I discover that it acts up frequently at 75 and above, only occasionally at 70 and never at 65 or below. I refuse to live life in the slow lane!!

Any CPS issues that I have had in the past never acted like this and always killed the engine. Is this a probable CPS issue? What is the consensus on the latest and greatest CPS to get?

Sounds a lot like mine except the speed. Mine did it at 35-45mph and very infrequent. Never saw the tech move or any lights, just an instant on/off feeling. I changed out the CPS at the advice of the guys here and so far, no problems.

Hey Joe. If not the CPS, I would look at the wiring harness on top of the VC's.

Did they close the stock yard by Positive Feed?

Sounds like what mine did except the speed was around 60. The first one happened so quick and so early I had to decide if I had dreamed it. After the 3rd or 4th time the CEL came on and threw a CPS code.

The short near the driver valve cover can cause the same type of cough. Mine caused the CEL and WIF light to flash when it acted up, but no lights stayed on and the only code thrown was a P0603.

Clay, The International dealear close to me still had two. I got em both. He said it would be the last CPS'es I ever bought from them. Told him I already knew that. But.....sooner or later you WILL get some of my money, I promise!!!!

Rick, howdy bro, hope all is well wit yall. I think it is still open. I will check it for you.

Chris, I had the UVCH issue also, this was/is different. Hope it is fixed now/again.

Barry, hope your kind of fishing is going as good for you as my kind of fishin is going for me.
