I have a 302/c4 in and ready to start after I have the driveline shortened.
how do i get a speedometer cable from a 1980 c4 to an original 52 f1 spedo. Thanks
you'll have to get a new cable I believe. I used a 60" for my toploader but it was close. they do have an 80" also I got mine off ebay a regular tranny place. make sure you get the correct ends that's all. you may also need a speedo gear if you c4 doesn;t have one. I think it was $36ish shipped

does this mean that a cable from a late 60s or early 70s f100 will fit the trans and back of the speedo. Does it have to be from a c4 or are they all the same.

From what I've seen they are pretty much the same where they go into the transmission. The difference is where it connects to the speedometer. After a certain year they went to a clip on instead of a screw on at the speedometer head. The one I got was originally for a C4 or C6 but it fits my AOD...
