I know the beds changed in 73 and the hoods changed then also. Pretty much no different frame wise. When did the I beams become cast iron? I think it was in 78. Not sure. The dask and cab chaged in 73 also.
I guess the real question is, if I had a 67 and 69 F250 Fe Auto (Has to be C6 in the 67, right). I should be able to select the best of the parts and combine to make one good truck. Provided there is at least one good part present.
I am pretty sure almost everything will interchange between 67-79...... even the sheet metal although the body lines will not match
I think the list of what doesnt interchange is shorter than what does
2. It's colors work with the parts I already have for the interior. the exterior will probably match my monster gas tank! Although I planned to paint it eventually.
I'll be moving most of my drivetrain to the 67. There should be one really nice truck and one that needs a little love here shortly. Both should be runners. Or, I may have a parts clearance on the classifieds here.
Both of your trucks look good and straight , my question is what is up with the 90 gal bomb in the bed for? Do you buy gas by bulk wholesale and fuel the rest of your fords at home. I know these old trucks aren't good on gas but thats just a little to big for me . Good luck on the 67and 69 you'll end up with some good lookin trucks.
The Crower Cam has a nice sound, lopes at idle. I think it's a little weak on the bottom end, but there may be other items holding back the ponies. I'm still running stock heads and valve train.
The cam was reccomended here by some of the FTE guys, so it must have some redeeming values.
Big Gas tank! Think, 390 FE, big cam, 3 speed auto, 4.10 gears and 29.5" tires on a heavy vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick!
In addition, I want space behind the seat and I like true dual exhaust. So, the other tanks are inconvenient.
The 90 gallon tank was actually a lot cheaper than some of the smaller tanks.
Sounds like you've got a good bit of work ahead. The poor '69 was just rusted away. Mine had similar problems, cept most of the rust is in the floorboards of the cab. Their professional paint job was a bondo screwup waiting to fall apart. The stuff doesn't stick to rust.
Good luck getting a running, working, hauling truck going gtex. Looks like the '67 should be good for you.
