There is nothing to post. Get an EGR valve gasket and make a metal copy and only punch out the two bolt holes. It is nothing more than a metal block off plate, make it the same shape as the gasket and leave out the big holes. You will need two gaskets one for each side of the plate.

Nothing to it Use the new gaskets as a temtplate. I use 1 of the new wife's pie plate and a set of tin snips. I would not use anything much thinner then a pie plate. Word of warning!!!! Don't get caught using wife's kitchen stuff, They get a little bent out of shape. It is well woth the effort to block the EGR!

Where is the EGR on my truck? It is an 88 300 with efi. It sounds simple enough, but where is it on the engine?
Thanks in advance

Pulling the vacuum line works fine on older carbed trucks that are not dependant on some sort of signal generated by the movement of the valve itself (like my old '79)....I think the FI motors require the valve to move as to keep the computer thinking it's operating...someone with a FI motor pipe in here...

If you disconect the vac line to the EGR valve on an FI engine you will set a code in the computer and set off the check engine light.

I pulled the line off the EGR before I found out about the resticter plate. It did cause the engine light to come on, but worse the gas milage dropped to something like 10-12. Put the plate on, it's by far the best and cheapest thing I ever did with this truck. Runs better than it did when new and gets 19-20 mpg on the highway.
