I only saw the one pic. So the truck must of been from your place snowking. How else would you know about the tailgate which is not in view in the pic. I think the quonset looks familiar.
No I'm not the seller, but I couldn't resist a road trip to see it. (I put in a offer on a stationary motor that was there, that I'm waiting to hear back on yet)
clip and rear is from an 81 camaro, im gonna do all the fitting and tack welding but ill let a journeyman welder friend of mine lay the beads. Id rather it be safe versus done all by me
so i went back out there to where the truck has to sit for 30 days (stupid legal stuff) and measured the frame width. Looks like my camaro clip width is not going to work. So im back to looking for front clip and motor/tranny options. If anyone has any ideas, the frame width is approx 32" in front of the body mounts.
I also took some more pics for you and ill post them as soon as i load them to the comp
The thing guys are doing now are fitting Volare, Diplomat, 5th Ave subframes under their rods or trucks. In doing so you have to cut out the engine crossmember. The engine will mount on the new subframe.
They like these because they can adjust them to lower the front or raise the front of their rides. Depending on the look they want.
These subframes usually also include the suspension and disc brakes. So they have everything in one on them.
I saw a pic of a 56 frod truck with this suspension. The pics were not good, but I recognised the system.
Just an idea. All you need is to make good strong mounting points for the subframe to bolt onto your truck. It will also have a nicer riding front.
