I was cleaning the inside of my 99' today. When I lifted the passenger side floor mat the carpet underneath was wet. I started looking for the AC evaporator drain under the truck. I can't find it. Can someone tell me where it is?
The blower fan also has water running out of the fan housing at the bottom of the fan mounting flange. I know it's related to my first problem. How hard is it to get the fan out of the housing? Will it uncover the evaporator drain?
its not hard to get the blower out. i just did it last weekend. i took some pictures and was planning to do a wrtie up on it. there are three screws that hold it in and i removed the piece thats in front of th blower (not sure what it is) to make it easier to get the blower out.
No it's AC condensation. There's no coolant in it. Plus I can find cold water on the backside of the inner fender. I just can't find the drain line/hole.
It's a pain to find and they do get stopped up. It drips right on the pass. side leaf spring behind the front axle. They're is a small hole in the bottom of the seam. You can use a small piece of wire to unplug it and get it draining again. It's easier to feel it than see it. Just reach in and under the fender well, find the hard plastic, follow the seam down and back towards the cab. Outside is flat, inside is rounded with a small hole in the middle. You will have to contort you hand and wrist, but you can do it.
Didn't just rain did it? I've noticed mine has started leaking now that it finally started raining down here again. Filled the channel on the door sill full night before last. I believe I read on here that it's from around the windshield, and a semi common problem. Maybe someone else knows for sure and will pipe in. Just a thought anyway.
