intake, exhaust, custom tune chip like a PHP, DP Tuner, or TW

Those mods should help quite a bit. Especially replace the intake and the stock downpipe if you still have it.

Yes i still have the stock air filter and down pipe also the cat,will probable replace the filter and cat.

The 6637 filter mod is very popular here. Also, gutting the cat or deleting it all together.

Probably the most restrictive part of the exhaust is the stock downpipe. It's like a flat pancake instead of a round pipe. A 3" round downpipe can be bought for under $100 and is relatively easy to install.

I have pictures from my downpipe install that I could send if you need them. Just send a PM if interested.

I have a 2wd (I would never pull in 4by4 even if I had 4by4) and pull what you see in my signature and if I get 10mpg I'm happy. I run the crap out of it also because I want to get there and to H*** with mpg.

I was fighting the fuel mileage problem when I first got my truck. I realized that the biggest difference that I saw was the kind of oil that was being ran in the truck. I don't know what the previous owner was using, but it had to be bad. I changed it to Mobil Delvac (and that isn't the best by far) and my mileage increased about 5 miles per gallon.

I know I have heard some of these guys using synthetic and helping quiet a bit as well.

My 4 door dually 95' got 17.86MPG (9400 miles MPG test) with crappy oil & fuel leak(s) in the valley!!

I have switched to 15w-40 Amsoil. I will post the MPG results soon. My engine sounds & runs sooo much better with the Amsoil !!!!!

I am still running down the fuel leaks & plan to switch out the down pipe & do the Riff Raff intake.

I am REAL happy with this truck's MPG, 20% better than my 03' Navigator! & thats BEFORE the switch to synthetic oil.
