I have a 1994.5 f 250 five speed manual 2 wheel drive
What would it take as far as parts to change it over to an auto??
Does it need a different computer for an auto and what about the shifter?? Do they make an aftermarket floor shifter so I wouldn't need to do the steering column
thanks JIm
I don't mind my 5 speed except that I have a hot spot on the fly wheel and get the chatter and bucking in reverse when I'm trying to back up either my camper or boat
It's just hard to feather the clutch and just can let it out all the way when backing into the storage unit
Is the 5 speed better than the auto
I did do the solid flywheel conversion and a nice southbend clutch but got it hot a few months later
Jim
Auto works great for me pulling, and I love it, BUT, they are real expensive to rebuild if you buy a used one and have troubles. I agree with Mike, keep the 5spd, maybe just replace the clutch again if necessary. Lots cheaper.
