Hope you don't have to have the 3rd brake light for anything. My F-150 was work a day, research for a week and order parts, work for a day, repeat. LOL
i was told the 3rd brakelight will screw with the cruise control. swapping it into the 92 will be easy, just need to extend the wires, its on the same harness as the rear speakers. its the door pin switches and locks getting to me now
i wasnt worried about that, if they are differnt, i can just pull em off the other truck. the damm locks are getting to me, iam gonna have to make a harness
Facing problems with 97 f250 powerstroke manual conversion
Hey,
I recently purchased a 1997 7.3 4X4 powerstroke that was converted from auto to manual.
After getting the steering column rebuilt the speedometer stopped working (dont know if it is related) but I also found out that the original wiring harness is still in place and is just tapped to accommodate the switch to manual.
I am also having an issue with a flickering alternator light and a delayed kick in of the alternator (when truck is started battery shows 8v then after about 30sec od driving clicks to 13v)
I was also told by seller that it has original auto ecu.
Dont know what I need to do? Replace wiring harness with manual specific harness? Change ECU?
Where would I get the parts, any instructions on the fix? Any recommendation for labor in the northeast?
