George, I'm assuming your switching out all the wiring harness right? Interior and exterior? You have to do the interior b/c of the OBD2 wiring. You have to do ALL of the underhood wiring for the headlights and all b/c the PCM wiring is mixed in with all of this also so that means take the fuse box and everything all the way over to the map sensor wiring. It will all come out in one piece.
You might have to take the engine towers off the x member of the PSD truck and put into the new truck also, i don't know if they are the same towers or not. also you will probably need to change a bunch of the A/C stuff over, map sensor, etc.
I was too lazy to read the whole thread so i thought i'd make sure. LOL. Hope you get it all done faster than i did on my F-150!!!
i pulled th harness from under the hood of the 250, and under the dash. i am concerned about the harness for the fuel tanks and the tail lights.are they the same or not?
everything else on the truck should be the same. Only other thing I'd be worried about is the transmission wiring, but if that's not the same then it should swap over easily. the under hood wiring is actually kinda nice isn't it? it all comes out in one big chunk of wires and lays back in pretty nicely. Keep us updated on this thing
your right, the under hood wiring is nice. i hope the tranny wiring is the same cause it is the same tranny. if all goes like i hope, the in cab/ under hood wiring should be all i need to swap.the CC only has power windows on the front, just like my 97, so that keeps the body wiring the same except for the 3rd brakelight. and , no offense, i hope i do get it done faster than you cause it it is my only wheels right now. BTW the toolboxes and stacks look sweet on a dually
Did you look to see if the towers on the frame for the motor mounts are the same?? I'm kinda curious. I don't think they are so you will have to torch out the rivets like i did on the F-150. Since your not going on a spending spree wanting a basically brand new truck you should get done in no time. I coulda had the F-150 running a year ago if i didn't want every dang part brand new. It's a sickness, i swear.
i can get pics of the powerstroke ones now. my new concern is the in cab wiring. i pulled the rest out today... because the 92 dosent have a 3rd brake light. i may have to make something so the rear door pin switches and powerlocks work. a 92 has roll down windows in the back, so that helps. this project has been work for a day, think for a day...
