i know when i had the springs re arched on my dads truck the guys there said rearching is ok but if you dont add one new leaf with it the arching over a shorter period of time will start to come out of it, that the new spring in the pack would help to hold the arch much longer

They aren't doing it right then lol. If they heat treat the steel properly it is as good as new. My sisters ex (husband back then) road on rearched springs for 4 years. His truck was double framed had 6" of body lift on top of that and a double stack of rearched springs. All of this was our doing lol. And had 44" ground hogs under it. It was a 78 F150 with a 300/6 with 4.10's and a np435 in it. He called it "small fry". It got about 6mph but gas was only about .95 a gallon lol.

Ya with spring steel it is all in the heat treating. That is one of the reasons you shouldn't use a torch on it to bend it. It should be broke or rolled.

its about $70 for each axle. you just drop the u bolts that hold your axle on, lift the truck up to make atleast 6" of space between the axle and the leaf. then you cut the centering pin that holds the leaf pack together. you slip the add a leaf in the pack, you will see how the leaf pack steps from long to short. just stick it where it fits the steps best. then stick the new centering pin in, tighten it up to compress the leaf pack back together. bolt the axle back up and your done. takes about an hour each axle.

yep i think oreo hit the nail on the head, just make sure that you have some C-clamps on the spring pack before you cut the center pin bolt and make sure the new center pin bolt is longer than the stock so you have plenty stickin through for the nut to grip on to

ya, just one. you can do 2 if you want, but expect a rough ride. as it is your ride will be a bit rougher. the more leafs you have the less it flexes and absorbs those jolts.

one way to help that though is a shackle reverse kit for the front and thatll actually give you 2-3 inches in the front as well depending on which kit you go with or if you fab one up

im not sure if it will be the same set up now that i think about it, im assuming that you have the ttb front end? one who know a little more about this than i will probably chime in to help me out with it. the kit you can get from Sky's Off-road Design - Home or from oru(off road unlimited) and you can do it at home as long as you have the tools to do it, the sky site has instructions right there for you to read
