I just put the Nitto Terra Grappler 275/70-18 on my screw last week. They are actualy a 33x10.5. I put on the Rancho Quicklift shocks on the front to level out the stance. Personally I don't think these tires would fit without the extra height. Even with the truck leveled they just miss the fenders when I turn. I would recommend leveliing the truck before you buy the tires.
The tires Tweaked put on are going on my truck today and that size would be really tight with out the leveling kit. I think they would work but you would get a fair amount of rubbing and maybe evening mess up your front bumper some. I had a 3" leveling kit installed last week to give me the extra clearance and beefier look of the front end that I wanted.
I can assure you that 275/70-18's will fit on the NBS 4x4 without any issues. I plow with my truck and with the front end loaded up with the weight of the plow, I don't have any rubbing.
I was hoping they would fit. I am surprised that more people dont put this size on these trucks with such a large wheel well. If anybody has any more pics with this size tire I would love to see them.
Wow, that's awesome that they fit, seeing how close the tread edges are I would of assumed they would rub at factory height. I also added an aftermarket wheel with some neg backspacing
I think most opt for a different size because they want a tire that is wider and taller vs just taller.
The major selling point for me is the price break the 275/70-18's offer. Really helps that this size is the stock size for F350's and optional on F250's.
Just understand that this size is basically only availabe in a E-range tire. Some folks feel that it's too much tire for a half ton and others think it offers too firm a ride. I'm currently running Goodyear Silent Armours and these are the softest/smoothes E-range tires I've had in a long time. Night and day difference over the coopers in the pics.
At full lock, the tire shoulder is close to the wheel well trim, but nothing touches. So your good. Not sure if you'll have issue with aftermarket wheels tho. Work with a good local tire shop and I'm sure they can test fit one for you. (not one of those box store chains, go with a mom & pop store. You may pay a little more but that extra is usually made up with customer service)
I might upgrade to that size from my stock 275/65/18s. Did this size have an effect on your gearing or speedo accuracy? I have a 3.73 rear end. Thanks.
The only effect you'll notice is the speedo being off. That's not a problem for me because I have a tuner and can adjust for the size. But you wont have any issues other then that.
