Two of the ones I have on there now had bubbles on the inner walls; two very large ones on one side and three small ones on the other. I've been asking around FTE forums about them and I've been told that these usually result from hitting potholes, curbs, or other rough activity. The only activity my truck gets is about 30 miles a week on a few trips 2-3 days a week around town and about 100 miles round trip on my last trip to the car show. Other than that, they said it may be a defective tire. So, I can't go back to original dealer they were bought from because it was bought by the previous owner 3600 miles away from me and a while ago. I am going to contact the manufacturer because these tires only had about 7000 miles on them.
Anyways, I found a brand new set of Super Swampers on Craigslist and drove to Bangor at 5:30 last Friday morning to pick them up before my wife and I drove to NH. I got a good deal on them. I saved about 50% off what I would have had to pay online plus shipping. No local dealers could get those in for some reason. Going tomorrow to have them mounted; another $180 bucks to do that, ouch!
Then, I'll list my two good ones on Craigslist and Uncle Henry's and maybe sell the two bad ones if someone wants to run with them till they blow. I may keep them for a spare if I need one.
Enough rambling . Hope everyone had a good weekend and a good start to this week today.
What size and brand are the two good tires? How do the super swampers ride?
They're Super Swamper Radials SSR Series. 37x12.5x15. They only have about 7k miles on them. I actually mounted them in Boston and drove them 3 and a half hours to Maine and they drove great. Theirs the normal hum you get with aggressive tires when you're going down the road.
