F13= Not listed
M= 390 cu in 4bbl V8 engine
R= San Jose Assy. Plant
D04047= 1976 sequential serial number
WB 133= 133" wheelbase
Color IM= (I) bright medium blue metallic (M) white
GVW not listed= Gross vehicle weight
Model F130= Not listed
Body BBA=(BB) Blue all vinyl interior (A)Not listed
Trans G= Automatic transmission
Axle 38J= (38) 3.73 non-locking 5300 lb capacity Dana 60 (J) with power steering
You have quite an interesting warranty tag. The series F13 and model F130 aren't listed, neither is the back of cab equipment (the A in BBA) this is whether its a styleside, flareside, etc. Then the real interesting one, (38) indicates a Dana 60 rear. This is for an F250 3/4 ton. If it was an F250 the VIN should start with F25 of F26 and model should be F2xx. Interesting.
All of my info is from the 1973/79 series 100/500 Master Parts and Accessories catalog from Ford

ok, that explains alot. it used to be an old uhaul truck, but its got an akward thermostat housing like ive never seen. ive got the hose coming from the radiator going to some kind "router" is the best word i can use to describe it. Its looks kinda like a brick with a hose coming out of it going to the water pump, and from the top of the router it goes to the thermostat housing going into the intake manifold through the front, not through the top<-- just noticed that. I was thinking it was a 351w until then, but now im not sure.

If you can post some pictures, maybe we can help.
By any chance is the emission certification sticker still on the valve cover?
That would have the engine info on it.

That engine is an FE/FT series, I would say FT because of the water pump and thermostat housing. Probably a 361 based on the 5.8L. I didn't think they were put in after '76.
Do you know if that's the original engine?
