Ok so asap i am going to be getting the gaskets and stuff to swap the heads out the heads on the other engine are pre 74 because they do not have smog ports on them. I will let you guys know of the progress.
take pics so we can see and others will know the answer in the future. Did you get a number from the heads so we could date them? I am curious as to what year they are... kinda like an itch you can't help but scratch...
Well its interesting i am sure they are d0oe heads because of no smog ports anywhere on them they are on a D4CE Engine so i am thinking they are the last generation D0OE gotta pull the intake and the heads to be sure though i couldnt find the casting number anywhere on the outside so...
Here... I just found this and you might find very useful information about D0oE heads in it. It sounds like they take a spark plug design that is becoming rare to find a cool 18mm... Maybe something to consider...
Lew did you have to change your pushrods to put the dooe heads in or did you just bolt the in?
....Mine had screw in studs , adjustable valves , i used hardened push rods & guild plates , as far as the spark plugs go i used the big autolite plugs .....Lew
Yeah , nobody throws these old heads away , there not bad heads , especially when someone else put the money in them . When i go aluminum i will find a good home for them ....
