Freeze off works, use it all the time.

However if you broke off that many its time to have pros tinker with it.

At this point, to preserve my knuckles and sanity, I would just take the intake off and pull the heads. Take the heads to a machine shop and get the bolts out without damaging anything, you can inspect the heads and valves, get a look down in the comb. chambers. Throw on a set of new head gaskets and intake gasket and you are actually ahead of the game for a few years down the road!
I agree with this, since so many broke off.

I would have been pissed!!! After pulling my engine and soaking the header bolts for 3 days with PB Blaster I still broke 2...

and yeah maybe you should have done it yourself... Could hardly be worse than it is now. Hope you didn't pay the dummies too much to just make a huge mess for you!

Nothing that can't be fixed... You know I found a pair of E7 heads on craigslist for $100 already machined... You might want to just take a look around for a pair that have already been machined and bolts removed... then pop you old heads, replace gaskets, put new heads on, put headers on, bolt up top end. Might be cheaper in the long run... Just a thought... Don't know waht a machine shop will charge to pull those 8 bolts... Or if you can get them out or not...

another thing you might try is to use duct tape to make a sealed dish around the header bolts... fill them with pb blaster so eventually the pb sinks into the broken off bolts.
yet another trick from the bag of ninja skills I have... remember to use a degreaser before making the duct tape dishes... duct tape doesn't stick to surfaces that have been lubbed up believe it or not... easier but not as effective would be soaking cotten ***** with the penetrating oil and packing at base of broke off bolts...

would the heads off a 1970s 351w work on my block and sd computer? These heads have just been redone on my spare motor and i thought they may be compatible but i want to know if they will work out.

i think they would work... I wonder if the comustion chamber would be the same... You might want to check and see what type of heads you have on the 1970 and post the numbers. You might also get a better respose if you ask on the older truck forums...

I will take a look at the heads when i get home and post the cast numbers on here i would assume they would work because they bolt the same and they didnt do much changes to the combustion chambers over the years at least to the cast iron heads. Maybe Conanski can tell me after i get the cast numbers.

numberdummy could probably tell you w/out the cast numbers too since hes the resident parts expert... if the bolt pattern, headers, and intake bolt up i would say go for it! but again the combustion chambers might be bigger or smaller which would change your compression ratio. I don't know if that would matter or not.
