This weekend I removed my turbo hoping that my wastegate was sticking, because then I would know what was going on, But sadly everthing was beutiful (except for the build up in the exhoust).
I cleaned everything up, installed a wicked wheel and put it back on.
Still no boost untill 2200rpm and max of 5 psi.
I took the shop scanner (OTC genysis) and ran all self tests avaiable, everything was good, except cyl balance test came up with cyls 3 &8 (but truck runs good).
while I was wathing live data I noticed that the "wastgate actuator" was at 98.8% at idle, Is this right.
I also noticed that the map senor sat at 25.1 inhg. and it barely moved when I used the pedal. After I shut it off it was still reading 25.1, so I unpluged the line going to it, and it still reads 25.1.
So when I got home I disconnected the line at the y-pipe and installed a vacume/ pressure pump. Everytime I applied vacuum, the reading would go down, when applying pressure the reading would go up, and sometimes it would just start jumping everywhere, even aflter I unpluged the hose.
Is it me or should the map sensor be reading around 0 when the hose is unpluged. and shoudn't the reading go up if it is reading 25.1 INHG and you apply VACUME?
I am starting to think this map sensor has been the problem all along, but it is $110.00. I don't really feel like spending that much on a hunch.
Can some one help me out please, this NO BOOST is really starting to drive me NUTS
I am reading it from a guage the p.o. installed, but I am hearing no turbo whine, that was part of the reason for installing the wicked wheal was beacause they are supposed to make more noise.
