-Did a bunch of gasket scrapings or gasket sealer ooze get into the pan and plug up your oil pickup screen?
thanks to Torque1st for the info on posting. The F150 in question is a 97 w/ 4.2L 6 cyl. I know that there was a recall on these vehicles for problems with the gaskets. The only problem I was having before having the timing belt gasket replaced was losing coolant. Now after driving for 5-6 miles I lose oil pressure and the engine starts knocking. The mechanic that replaced it now thinks the main bearing may be going out. Does this sound right?
