I'll have him try switching the relays. Oh and if it does'nt start running soon I'll just convince him that he blew it up and that as a thank you for helping him out he could just give me the intercooler and spyder and I'll call it even! Ha!Ha!Ha!

Alright he's going to take it to a local shop and have them run a full scan on it. I'll post again with what they find. I appreciate all the info. Thanks everyone!

My WAG is, idm is locked out do to lack of oil pressure.
Possible inj o-ring/s failed after that top end run he did.

orings was my first idea but I didn't want to jump the gun, one guy in the superduty forum said I could pressurize the heads to check for bad o-rings, any pointers? Thanks,

I still say just swap the IDM's and try it itll only take an hour or so and you cant hurt anything.

well I'm waiting to see what shows up after he has it scanned, depending on what the scan shows I'll swap the IDM. I'll let y'all know what happens

Ok, he finally got it scanned, and they said the injectors are fine, fuel pressure is nearly 100 psi, but ICP pressure is not right ( I don't know exactly what the pressure is, or isn't) So, were thinking the IPR is stuck open, Sound possible? Where can I get a Socket to remove the IPR? Thanks!

We need to know what the ICP pressure & IPRDC% is when cranking

how did they check injectors ? Buzz test? Were there any IDM codes ?

Thanks for the reply. They Buzz tested the injectors, and there were no codes at all. BUT, he just sold the truck this afternoon, so someone else will be figuring it out. Thanks for trying to help, I really apprieciate it!!!

Sorry guys, I thought that I was finished with this truck, but the guy who was suposed to buy it, backed out. So the owner called me this morning and asked me to come over and see what I could do. So I took a good spare IPR with me, put it in, and it started up. Well, I cleaned the old IPR (thanks to a link here on FTE ) Put it back in and it ran fine.

The truck is smoking quite a bit, bluish white, there is also a little pressure coming out of the oil fill tube. Does anyone have any ideas what the smoke is from? o-rings, ring wear? Thanks again everyone!!!
