Two new Glocks ordered!
Any Glock fans here?
The Glock is a fantastic tool.
I too have a Beretta 92FS and it is a fantastic firearm, but, it doesn't travel to the range very often, the way that my Glocks do.
Sofar, here's a listing of the Glocks in my stable:
G21
G19
G30SF
G23
Here's a cellphone pic of the first group fired from my G19.
Range: 15 yards.
Ammo: CCI "Blazer" 115 gr fmj
Stance: Standing, unsupported (no artificial rest). Modified Weaver Stance.

This pistol's sights are set for a 'center hold'.
I was holding the front sight at 6 o'Clock on the 10 ring and notice where the holes are. Right where the front sight was.
This pistol is boringly accurate.
You will LOVE the Glock and I doubt that you'll want to change the connector to the "NY" 8 lb.
The 5.5 lb feels really good, once you get used to it.
Also, you already have an external safety -
Keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot!
Or, as was once said: "Keep your booger-hook off the bang switch until you are ready to shoot."
ETA: Check into the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF). They have a pistol purchase program, where you can purchase one (1) Glock per year at a reduced price.
Note - this program has been in effect for several years, and they just modified it, to make it easier to purchase, although, the prices have gone up a little. Still. . . this program is really good. GSSF also holds competitions in many parts of the U.S. and it's geared toward the 'regular' guys, not pros. You also have a good chance of winning a Glock of your choice for 'placing'. Check it out!

PS......Hang on to the Beretta, they are hard to beat and my personal favorite.
There are documented 'problems' with a couple of models, such as the G30SF, where a defective trigger bar was used and the pistol suffers from a FTRTB (failure to return to battery).
There's been a newer part manufactured that solves the problem.
Fortunately, I've never experienced this FTRTB. (Knock wood.)
The biggest 'issue' that I've read about are some of the .40 S&W pistols KB'ing (Ka-Booming), from defective ammo and/or hot reloads.
Some have said, "Unsupported Chamber". Glock has modified their newer pistol's chambers to end that 'reported' problem.
All in all, Glock pistols are very good.
For each manufacturer out there, I own more Glock pistols than any other.
Are they the best???? Nah. They're ONE OF the best, though.

I haven't tried any CCI 9mm. We're run a bunch of CCI Stingers through the Bobcat though. Good ammo!
I've never had an accident with the trigger. Not even with an unloaded gun. But being human, I know we're capable of making a mistake at the most inconvenient time. The 12~lb pull on the Beretta pretty much insures that if the trigger is pulled, it's deliberate. I'm sure the 5.5 lb trigger on the Glock will be fine. Just have to get used to it. It sure feels good to shoot. I'll keep my nose miner out of the loud lever!
I'll check into the GSSF. Thanks for the tip...
We'll be hanging on to all of our Berettas current and future. My Cougar was made in Italy. Now they're made by Stoeger, a subsidiary of Beretta in Turkey. Just as good but without the name. The Glock will be a great versatile tool. The Berettas are a work of art!
Mark, Any gun can jamb for the same reasons. The Glock has a reputation working well with just about any ammunition. We'll stay away from reloads and cheap stuff like we do with our Berettas. I keep my guns clean and properly lubed so problems are minimal. The Bobcat will start to jamb about every 100 rounds if we don't run a brush through it. Gotta keep 'em clean. My Cougar stove piped a couple of times when I first bought it due to my limp wristing it. Problem solved.

If it did, I doubt so many gun store employees and police would carry them as their personal weapons. I did a fair amount of research and the two most reliable brands look to be Glock and the Ruger P series.
The most unreliable gun appears to be the beowulf because of the faulty ammo and generally the rimfire .22/.25 semi-autos pistols.
Where are you that there is a 3 day waiting period?
FWIW here in WA you gotta wait 3 days if you buy from a store and don't have a permit.
Florida has a three day waiting period for non permit holders. Ours are ordered so it'll be three days just the same. But it's a joke that in three days I won't be mad anymore. That is unless someone pisses me off on the way to pick them up!
Other then that there fine guns, though I think a VERY VERY poor choice for an issue LE firearm.
Just endure the same (minimum) 7 Day waiting period, we have here, in Maryland.
That's for any/all handguns, and some rifles and shotguns.
IF the rifle/shotgun are on Maryland's 'restricted roster', you wait. Period.
What's really a 'hoot', is, an AR or "M4" has to be registered like a handgun ('restricted' firearm), but, an AR-HBAR (same basic rifle, but, has a heavy 20" barrel) can be paid for and carried out of the store when you leave.
Go figure!!
Oh!!! And in Maryland, there are no more 'private' face-to-face sales of handguns and 'restricted' rifles/shotguns.
These sales MUST go through an FFL. (And just because you have an FFL, doesn't mean that you can sell/transfer handguns. You also must have a Maryland "Pistol Traders Permit"!)
Don't you feel better, since you don't live here????
