Machetes they have not banned. Swords you can either get a permit or just be a member of a sword/knives club which is $20 a year and you can have whatever you want.
I dont know about the laws there, but body armor is illegal here :S
Sounds tough to own a handgun in Australia! I hope we don't get that strict here but if we did, ten competitions a year wouldn't harm me any. Most folks wouldn't be inclined to do it though. I bought my 1994 Beretta Cougar in it's original shipping box from Italy a couple of years ago. It had never been fired. Never bought a holster for it as they're almost non-existent. Don't know why. It's a great gun about the size of a G19 but a tad fatter and a bit heavier. With it's safety and 12 lb trigger pull, I carried it au natural in the britches. Holsters for the big 92FS are plentiful.
After a Glock Sport/Duty holster doesn't stay put without a super stiff belt and an ultra thin Kydex IWB holster, I've settled on a Fobus Evolution paddle holster. I can wear it all day and it's still comfortable at the end of the day. I like the tuckable IWB but after a while, I felt like I had a gun in my gut. And a quick draw is very difficult with the shirt tucked in. The Fobus is great in all regards but it does interfere with my right pocket a little. It's cant and lean keep it as close to the belly as an IWB. Fobus Holster: Evolution Series Holsters
I wonder how long it'll be before I go with a G26 or 27...
