Has anyone fastened their front fenders to the lower cab cowl, or would this limit movement; and cause stressing of the fenders ? I haven't bolted the fender to the running board as of yet.
I was looking at drilling through and bolting , mid point on the rear of the the fender.
I was wondering do you have one of these connecting panels at the bottom of your front fender? It connects your front fender/running board/lower cowl area. You should have one on each side. One for the passenger side and one for the drivers'.
Is it that the lower rear of your front fender is not stable enough? These little pieces are sometimes missing, and are available aftermarket. etc.
Or do you just want more support etc.
You don't want to attach any of the body parts rigidly to the cab. The cab is mounted on semi-flexible arms with rubber mounts. Also the frame of the trucks is built to be flexible. If you bolt up your fenders to the cab, it will torque and twist and cause quite a bit of damage to the fenders.
If you have the right fented welt installed, they should be fairly snug up next to the cowl.
