First is there a thread or tech article somewhere that would help? The passenger side window does not work with either switch. I remove the plug on the passenger side window switch and apply 12V and ground to the 2 wires going to the window motor and the window works one way. I reverse the jumper wires to the pigtail and it works the other way (up/down). So I think I have isolated it to be a switch. Now, how can I test to see which one it is?
im having the same problem with my dads truck also, pass front window doesnt work but if you apply 12v to the plug it goes up and down fine. ive asked before and tried searching and found nothing hopefully someone can help us both out
both windows ground through the driver door switch. If the driver side window works, and the passenger side doesn't, then the problem is either in the wiring between the passenger door and the driver switch, or the driver switch itself.
I would substitute a known good switch on the driver's side. If that doesn't work, you need to check cointinuity of the wiring between the two sides.
What I have found is that in rough use both the power window and lock switchs get dirt in the contacts. With a flat screw driver you can carefully open the switch and pull out the contacts. clean them up and put a little WD40 on them. I wish I had taken pics when mine was apart.
