Has anyone had any experience with a dual carb set up on the flat head? I am talking about the kind that actually has two places for carbs NOT the Y kit you can buy to put two carbs on it. I was wanting more power, but do not want to totally kill my fuel mileage.
Three carbs with progressive linkage is usually better for mileage than a dual, if you can keep your foot out of it. A four barrel is probably even better, and a lot less trouble (but not very traditional).
I have a dual Stromberg 97 setup, very nice. If you have a stock engine 2 carbs is probably the max as 3 will give you too much fuel, and as Ross said a 4 barrel will probably work real good but it doesn't look as good a dual Strombergs. Also you need to think about what you are using, generator or alternator.
My opinion is go with the duals and keep your stock generator, that is the way it looked in 52.
Well I am going to put an alternator on it and that is another thing I need is that bracket. I can buy one on ebay new for 40, but I was going to wait and see if anyone had one used that is cheaper. Anyway I was going to use the original 94s, but I dont want to dump a pile of money in a manifold. Does anyone have a good used one?

What, you mean from someone converting back to a generator?! Not. Real. Likely.

Any other mods ? Heads, headers , cam ?? Did you notice any power gain when you went with the duels?
I am thinking of doing the same along with heads , cam, headers.
i was reading somewhere that it isn't recommended that you run a multi carb setup on a big heavy vehicle like our trucks and the passenger cars like my 52 . i geuss it was the flathead tech site associted with the flathead site ross mtflat , myself and a couple others here are on . can't remember the reasoning as to why . personally as much trouble as them old 94's have given me , no matter how many rebuilds ,or however nice i am they give me nothing but crap !!!
