hellow guys.I would like to apoligize about my truck tree comments. I sure hope that man has more patience than me. ok . that said I am looking for the dash/windshield trim pieces I have none of it and need the whole set -up for my 47. does anybody have them ? that the termites.. havent goten to? and if so are you willing to sell them . I havent found any reproduction items for these trim pieces . thanx.

You mean the windshield frame on the inside? I thought I had seen somebody reproducing them, but if not, they have popped up on eBay frequently. They can get expensive, as so many of them rusted away when the windshield rubber leaked. The little piece at the top that ties it together I have seen reproduced. Good luck on your hunt.

It was more of the old rubber seals shrink up, and then water starts seeping in, and since the metal of the frame rests right against the rubber, it starts to rust. The paint that they painted the frames with seemed to be pretty thin, probably not much protection against water. They also seem to be the type of part somebody removed during restoration, then forgets where they put them. I have been guilty of that. To help your search, they are the same for all regular cabs (non COE) from 40-47, excluding the military style trucks with crank out windshields.

Also the defroster vent runs through the channel causing moisture buildup on the inside and condensation on the out. And like Gary said, they loved to rot away and can be hard to find. I gave up and am fixing the rot on mine. Good luck on you search, never did find a repro.

window moulding
Hi, I have a 1940 one ton and mine were in fair shape, one third of one section was rusted and gone. I have searched all over the net for parts, none exist unless you can spend a lot of time on craigs list or ebay, could take forever.
I got some sheet steel and used the old ones as a pattern to cut, bend, weld,etc hammer like hell the new piece onto the old one..the i intend to use bondo filler to smooth it out and paint it. you may also think about using wood instead of metal, seems like all the inner window moulding does is hold the glass rubber in, but newer windshield rubber is much better and stronger than older stuff. if you dont plan on going 100 miles per hour, it may not matter.
a few sites do sell the interior middle connector piece, maybe dennis carpenter or job lot auto, etc..
best to design your own and move on. have some fun and good luck!

thanx alot guys . Ill keep looking .the truck was pretty much dissasembled. when I came accross it .az truck fair cond .so I assume the pieces "got 'lost.again thanx. dave.

thanx 2 star ,the link to bob drake . he appears to have all the pieces I need . I ordered them .fair price . molding , center ,"inside and out" if it all works ill be happy once again . thanx .

Dave, your very welcome glad to hear you could get all the pieces you need. Sounds like that should be posted here on this forum for others who may be looking for the same.
Once you receive them and are pleased with the quality and fit maybe you should be the one to post it.

wind frame /inside
good so far . trial fit on inside moulding . I need to get the proper screws. very happy with my stuff. thanx for the lead . when installed .. soon .will send pics .. if I can figure out how to .
