Ring gears

Correct me if this statement is wrong

the gears for a Sterling 10.50 will work in our Sterling 10.25's

I ask cause I think my 75 has 4.10's in it do to the vin plate, and I am going to check, anyways if I do, I need to put gears in my sterling (Its 3.55) also anyone got a LSD or something they would sell me cheap? Cause I got a UNLIMITED (You heard me right) Unlimited slip diff. Anyways thanks guys. Also if I put 4.11 gears in it, would that matter? I dont think .01 would hurt but you never know.

The ring gear was as far as I know.

Friend of mine had to order his from the factory to get 3.73.
Its friggen weird to drive with the zf6 and 3.73's after driving mine with 4.10's. haha.

Thanks.

Rusty
IIRC, you need different bearings for the pinion.
The 10.5 has smaller pinion shaft than the gen 2 10.25.

If you can get a pinion that matches the gen 2 10.25 and will mate up with the 10.5 ring gear, that would be mint.

I believe you have to swap carriers too. I think you can swap carriers and not swap gears as well. To much to remember. haha.

The 10.5 carrier has 3 spiders, which is a lot better if you are running tires over 35 inches.
37 inch tires really tear up the 10.25's spiders.

The truck will tow and sled pull a little, also I plan on running a 35. The truck is originall a 4.10 truck so I will kep it that way, just to kind of match the vin.
