e350 rear vs. sterling 10.25

So the 8.8 in my 92 has kicked the bucket. So right now Im looking for a sterling to put under it. My local JY does not have any sterling 10.25's out of an f250 or 350. However they do have one out of a 2001 e350 that has disc brakes and 4.10's.

I have heard before that you can only use the sterlings out of the trucks between 85-97. Something about the van rears being narrower.

Will the e350 rear fit, i would love to have disc brakes in the rear and I want the 4.10 gears. Also will VSS match up.

I'm far from a Ford expert, but did the vans change their lug pattern to metric when the trucks did? If they did, you still might be alright, if you run the spacers/adapters to the regular 8x6.5.

You sure thats a sterling in the van? It should be a D60 semi float with disk brakes. Any sterling that is full float and has factory disk brakes will be a metric bolt pattern.

The tone ring (vss) plug in will be the same regardless of axle model after the change over from mechanical speedos. -early 90s-ish.

It is definitely a full floater and definitely had disc brakes. The axle is not under the van in the JY its sitting on a rack, with a tag on it that says its out of an '01 e350 and that it has 4.10 gears.

And from what I researched after what Tom said, it looks like the vans did change to metric but not until '04ish. And that the width of the axle is a little over 67.5"

I did read somewhere that it is a D60 that came in e350. which is fine with me as long as it has the same VSS mount on it, the same as my 8.8 does so that my speedo will still work.
