135K miles. Ive had this problem for a few days. When I accelerate, my truck jerks back and forth like it might be possibly misfiring. If Im cruising and go uphil, same thing happens (more RPMs needed to keep constant speed). It usually doesnt happen when I acelerate slowly and steadily, but then again that's not really accelerating.
Ive change my air filter and it still does the same thing. I have not looked into the EGR valve, spark plugs, Ignition Coil, nor the fuel filter. I believe Ive changed out all these things out before a long while back so it might be time to change again, but not sure.
I just wanted somewhere to start. Any ideas or how to check these things off the list of what's causing this to happen? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
I appreciate yalls replies. The check engine light is on. I will check that out to see if something comes up. I will begin by checking if my EGR ports are stopped up. If not, I will look into my plugs and wires. Thanks again.
It sounds like you have the same problem I recently had. The guys at O'Rileys let me use their code reader and it said it was the camshaft positioning sensor. They were not suprised as they apparently sell a lot of these things. You have to remove a bunch of stuff to get to it. I failed to notice the magnet from the first sensor had fallen off, so it bounced around in there and destoyed the new sensor I installed, so I got to do it again. I got it right the second time. Cleaned everything up before installing the new one.
