I have a '95 F-350 4x4 with the auto trans. Today when I was towing the boat back from the lake the ABS light starting flashing. I pulled over turned the truck off and then turned it back on. The truck would not go into gear and the ABS light was still flashing. I figured out I had blown the fuse to the ABS & shifting. Replaced and away I went. Stop for some diesel and same thing happened. One more fuse and home I went. My question is what are some possibilities for this starting to happen. Have had the truck for over a year and never had problems pulling the boat or otherwise. I am planning on taking it to the shop, but I want to be prepared as possible. You know how it goes.
Thanks,
Aaron
I had a 97 F250 that did that exact same situation. What it was is that onw of the lights on the boat had a water leak. When I loaded thge boat then plugged the lights back in there was enough water in the light to blow the fuse. It blew the fuse for the brake light switch. I didn't have any brake lights on the truck either. Replaced the fuse and worked perfect. Called my local dealer and they pointed me in the right direction. Jsut theough that I would help.
Have seen the problem 100 times. Check those trailer lights over good. If you can't get it out of park because of a blown fuse, just shut the truck off, turn the key forward slightly, and put the truck in neutral. Start truck and put into drive. Hope this helps when you run out of fuses.
