am in process of front clip off repairs - and looking to replace the radiator core support - truck is a midwest snow plowed tree service so quite rusty
QUESTION - how do I get the main frame to core support bolts out - to replace the rubber isolater/bushings and bolts - mine are just too rusty
understand - i got my nuts cracked ......... and off - its the bolts I am having the issue with - as I dont mind cutting my old ones - its getting the donors off the donor truck with the rubber bushings/isolators - the bolts on mine will turn fighting the rubber - and not sure if this is because the rubber on mine ( lower - towards ground on the mount ) is a crumblin ..........
as there is rubber there - these mounts must have replacements /be replaceable
I will have my luck today in the parts yard and see what I can discover on a clean desert truck
I was referring to the bolts stuck in the bushings too. A little heat, some PB blaster go a long way. Add a little vibration from a large punch and hammer, they might break loose.
gotcha und thanks - I looked about on the fullsizebronco link you passed on
I see on one link included in the write up a picture of what I think I am dealing with - as I suspect - the body mount steel washer is more a sleeve
always a good place to be when you can ask of someone else's experience
course I am heading back to family farm in Will County later this month - so my new handy work will get a chance to re rust itself solid with all the humid midwestern clime
spent better part of day in the pick yards - and got great shape desert truck 96 F350 to donate its Radiator core support to my truck -
and discovered on this year - the front frame mount bolts /15mm head - the bushing sleeve appears to be threaded - and those lower bushing are common to crumble - i did not manage a donor set yet as the heat of the day - not to mention the days issue removing the front clip to get my new donor support was enough for the day - will venture forth tomorrow to see about grabbing the rest of the bits for my restore/repair
report back once I have a decent set of bolts /bushings - may see on getting some good polly lower bushing as these rubber ones dont seem hearty enough
