Have you tried the nipple extractors I posted? They won't make it expand and break. They're designed to remove short pieces of pipe without cracking and breaking them, so a bolt shouldn't break either. And even in the extreme cast that it does break, it will be easier to get the pieces out.
Trust me, I've removed 2 or 3 drain/fill bolts from transfer cases using these, they work like a charm. If they don't work, return them, and fill through the rabs sensor hole, or make a new hole like posted above.
