Does anyone know the minimum thickness that the rotors and drums on a 85 F150 can be turned to? I have to knock them off to change pads and shoes and doubt they have ever been turned so I was going to chuck them up and turn them. I realise that it is supposed to be stamped into the steel but the pitting is pretty bad after 25 years.
I think I mentioned that they are illegible due to pitting.
You must be assuming that anyone else actually read that far into your post......
Sorry, I don't know the exact specs for the 4x4 front rotors, but I'd bet they are very similar to the 2wd, since the pads/calipers are the same. Rear drums would be the same, as the are the same parts.
Rotors were shot. One side had pads worn at an angle. Replaced rotors and pads.
Drums looked ok. No adjuster cable though. Installed adjuster cables and now have very, very good brakes.
