I recently got a 2009 f350 lariat, the mirrors have the "heated" emblem on them but for the life of me I cant find a switch anywhere to turn them on, are they automatic?

 

They are on all the time.

 

When you turn on your window defroster it also starts to defrost the mirrors, at least that's how my 06 works.

My 06 works when the truck is running the mirrors are on.

 

Will is right the 2006 (sure others are the same but mines an 06) has the Mirror Heat on all the time.......Stupid
I live in the south & didn't want them running all the time (unnecessary) so I changed a few wires to make my Heated Mirrors work off the #4 UpFitter instead
Our 2009 Ford Flex Limited turned them on with the Defroster though, which is ok with me

 

my 08n there was abutton for them, my 14 they work when I turn on the heated rear window.

 

My 08 there is a button right between the seat heater buttons on the dash.
