WOW other than the moron designers designing the fuel filler setup like a bunch of freakin morons the tank was cake work to drop out....oh did i say the designers where morons ?? lol
pumped all 40gallon out with a little electric pump he has ... took about 20mins or so....8 4 gallon gas jugs later and it was almost totally empty... actually pulled the pump cap and sucked the last gallon out so i didnt have to deal with any gas around the pump..
will have new pump on tuesday and tank will go back in.... stupid gas filler will be the hardest part....

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS !!!
only thing i noticed though was that it still only gets to 30psi fuel pressure..... should be 38+ from what im reading... that a bad regulator ????

The specs for engine running is 28-45psi, KOEO is 35-45psi according to the shop manual so it's within spec. I think the earlier spec I gave you was for max pressure if the pump test is activated by a scanner. If you feel like it you can check the vacuum supply to the regulator for any leaks or if it has fuel in it.

ok thanks...
ok its within spec KO but KOEO its still low... it does hold pressure very well though.. really doesnt bleed off 30psi after getting there....
since its running OK right now ill leave it alone and just hope its a crappy pressure guage we have (harbor freight) it def. comes up to 30psi alot quicker than the old pump...

Totally not the problem

I have replaced both and my loss of power and inability to have the transmission shift have gone away. This fix has cost me $3.00.

I was wrong when I thought that I have fixed this problem when I posted about the vapor recovery lines. (All thought, The collapsed vapor line probably did need replacing.)

I did finally figure out that it was related to low fuel levels. After spending may weeks playing stump the Mechanic I was able to get a Mechanic to measure the fuel pressure when the truck started to show the symptoms. The fuel pressure dropped from 30 PSI to 9PSI. Bad Fuel Pump.
Replaced the fuel pump and the truck is running much better.

Sorry for my bad post on this issue.
