I have a problem with my f-250. When I drive the truck for more than just a few miles, I can turn the ignition off and the truck will not start up. If I wait a few hours and try again the truck starts up fine. I checked the alt. and the battery both are good. I also replaced all 3 battery cables. I'm thinking it is some sort of heat problem because when I let the truck set for a while it starts up. Also it runs good it just will not restart. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Your starter is getting over heated by the exhaust manifold and wont turn when it is hot. You can buy a starter cover that protects it from the heat. I have seen them at autozone. hope this helps.
