Some people call a 351 Cleveland a small block & it does share the same motor mounts & bellhousing as the s.b. but it is a 335. The 335 351M/400 motor mounts & bell housings are different & will not interchange with a s.b./Cleveland.
thats what I was wondering, I have a 400, it is not interchangable with say a 302 or 351w? Sorry for not clarifying. I know the 400 has the big block bellhousing, so does the 400 have the big block style engine mounts as well?
bigblock and smallblock are chevy terms, they don't translate to Ford applications due to the many differences.
i use 'large pattern bell' or 'small pattern bell' when describing the trans bolt patterns but there's still another that could cause confusion with my terms, the FE bell.
most technically correct would be
Challenger series bell, 5 or 6 bolt (221, 260, 289, 302/5.0, 351W & 351C)
