I'm almost at the end of my 400 build and i need a sugestion for the timer. It was a 351m and install 400 crank with tmi piston. Can i used the 351m timer with no problem or i gonna have to change the spring inside ? or need a new timer ? Any help will be appreciate.
I put a mark on my damper at tdc to aling with the timing pointer. I'm talking about the distributer. I know it will bolt down right but did it will work right with the 400 with no modification ? I need to break in this engine. New cam, lifter, rebuilt crank .010 under, block .030 over with tmi piston, rebuilt aussie head with stainless steel valve with spring to match the cam ex-256h, roller rocker with converssion kit, new oil pump,straight-up timing chain, eldelbrock performer intake, 600cfm carb manual choke.
I just order a push-rod length adjuster because the block was deck and the head were plane just to bring everything straight. The stock push-rods are to long now. Almost finish my first rebuilt and learn a lot with FTE during this long term project on a tight budget.
