unloaded at WOT i can go through 1st and 2nd gear and before I can get to 3rd I have to back out of throttle because I will be at 1250-1300. With my trailer on flat ground is ok but any grade temps will climb quick trying to maintain 60-65mph.
Did you find your problem yet? I am having the same thing but not pulling a trailer, truck empty. I was looking at my gauge after taking a corner rolled into the throttle and like you said it shifted through the gears and before I can into top gear gauge where at 1250- 1300 and truck still pulling and had to let off. I was in my 80E,I just had Jody retune my 80E for better shifting. I would have to see what my other tunes are at.
ok havent read all this, i made it to page 3 and my daughter is getting cranky. have you checked the flapper in the turbo, just behind the down tube? if it is no open all the way there could very well be a restriction. and if its the dp tuner tune and have the decel tune and it isnt working 100% than there is your answer. they seem to get gummed up and need a little scrubing. hope this is something that works if you didnt do it already.
Ok so I towed the trailer today. First in stock then in 80T up same grade with brake controller unpluged. Big difference truck ran much better and cooler. Third test was 80T with brake controller pluged in. Turns out even after having trailer check 3 weeks ago brakes on right side were twice as hot as the left. Went bake to shop they adjusted them. What a pain the last few months trying to figure this out. Thank you to everyones help and suggestions, if it was not for your help I would have paided big money to a dealership who prob would of found nothing after throwing a bonch of parts at it. Wish now I did not have the CPS recall done.
