Got a call from the dealer today, they have ordered a center housing part for the inside of turbo. They told me there is a $100 deductable, should this be covered under the five year warrenty ? And will they give me the updated flash for computer ?
It should be.....the dealer that did my turbo replacement under warranty sent me a refund check after I paid the deductible. I'd definitely ask them about it.
Under the emissions warranty, you will not be charged for labor, diagnosis, or parts for any emissions control device or system for 100k (ie no $100 deductible):
Air flow sensor
Air Fuel Feedback control System and sensors
Cold start enrichment system
Electronic engine control sensors and switches
EGR system
Exhaust manifold
Fuel Injection System
Intercooler Assembly - Engine Charger
Power Train Control Module Turbocharger Assembly
Also covered by the two emissions warranties (Emissions defect warranty and Emissions performance warranty):
All emisssions-related bulbs, hoses, brackets, tubes, gaskets, seals, belts, connectors, non-diesel fuel lines and wiring harnesses that are used with components on the list above.
Some dealerships charge you and then put the ownership on you and Ford to get the refund. All the dealerships I have been involved with have ended up NOT charging the deductible (even though they started out saying I owed the deductible). MUCH simpler that way.
IMO a good dealership will look it up and not charge you ...........
Ok this is the update, got truck back today, dealer replaced cac boot, removed tubo and found excessive coking deposits on center housing assembly and corrision, replaced center housing tubo and road tested with 24 psi boost. No charge, as it was still under warrenty till 8-2010. They did not perform the latest flash.
