looks good man! its been so dry here my trucks been clean for weeks... what are your plans for the radius arms on the 44? are you using the 78's or are you using your originals?
Going to use the stock 79 radius arms, they are longer than the stock arms on a ttb so I figure they will suffice until I can afford JBG or something to that nature.
Dang, I just re-read this thread again and wanted to compliment you on the work you have done to the front end, it looks great! excellent job imo for your first attempt at body work.
That bed is a piece of work too!
waiting to see those beastly rubbers thrown on there..
Hey thanks guys! I did get the tires mounted on the rims this weekend.
Ran into a snag, fuel tank started to leak, thought I could patch it but turned out that awesome plastic skid plate that Ford put on their under cab fuel tanks is actually a debris catcher and rusted a hole through my tank. Threw a new tank in in record timing, then tackled the exhaust today boy was that a fiasco.
Should be getting my axle back tomorrow. After that it's just putting everything back together.
I'll have to get some pictures, I lost that exhaust that dumped before the tire, it's now 1 cat into a 28" cherry bomb to a turn down after the cab. Why on earth did Ford ever decide to use a D pipe to connect the 2 cats? It's so dumb so I'm sure I'm going to lose this exhaust also.
But more bad news has struck, throw out bearing is chattering. Gears that came in for the front end are no good, awesome stuff.
Front axle is a 79 D44 with yukon 4.56, spicer carrier and aussie locker
Rear is stock 8.8 with 4.56 and full detriot
Tires are 36" TSL bias ply
6.5" Cage progressive rate coils
Rear is a Ruff Stuff shackle flip
Almost done, just need my DOM to get here to finish the steering with 1 ton Chevy TRE's and brakes
The radius arm mounts are just stock 79 ones, I need to get drop ones or make my own if I extend the arms and Aussie locker is like a limited slip, it allows one tire to move faster but never slower for turns.
