And about the mirrors, I took both bolts out and apparently there was something holding them from the inside? I tried, and I understand going the extra mile and everything but this isn't meant to be a show piece or even close to it, this was my first attempt at body work so I knew it wasn't going to be perfect. It's going to be lifted and taken off road quite a bit so chances are it's going to need a new paint job by the time the paint starts peeling :P Jams will get painted when the bed does. Firewall will be the only thing still blue, except the interior.
I appreciate all the comments, it would probably be done by now if I didn't work 12 hours a day
Haha thanks! I really appreciate it since this my first time doing any of this. I figured why not try it out on a rusty old bucket, anyone can go out and buy a nice clean truck.
Its looking good. Can take a lot of time that's for sure. I have had my 89 apart for over 5 years now. Lack or time and money slowed me down. Now I got laid off and have been logging a few hours.
cyclegrip... I would suggest if you are going trailing to put a center brace on your wheel arch. If you tip left or right you can get rocks slammed into your bed side... a little extra reinforcement never hurts...
are you putting in a roll cage or are you just dirt trailing it?
im getting inspired. my 250 has a real straight body with ugly green paint. that flat black is pretty cool. how do you paint the door jambs and engine bay?
lol. Bedtime? whats that? I actually did go to bed right after posting that. But got woken up 45 minutes later for an ems call (im a volunteer firefighter)

I'm not worrying about the engine bay right now because I will be pulling the engine in favor of a 4bt this fall probably, so I'll do it then. Door jambs will be done when I paint the bed :P
