In the "new" links posted by Smokersteve I found some interesting information in this link about EGR cleaning that's totally contrary to what Ford had previously recommended regarding the use of brake cleaner vs. carb cleaner:
This link contans a ton of useful information, but if you scroll down to the EGR diagnostic section (specifically page 7) it says use brake cleaner NOT carb cleaner which is a mistake. Maybe cheezit or vloney can chime in here on what Ford currently recommends.

That is a mistake. Ford literature specifically states the reverse. Also, Ford_Doctor, who writes articles on Ford Diesel Technician Society (FDTS) confirms this.
That's why I wanted confirmation as it is totally contrary to everything I have read/said the past 4 or 5 years. Who wrote that document? Is it a TDR document or a ford tutorial? It definitely needs deleted or or notated as incorrect.
It is a TDR document. There is also a Ford video that I have somewhere that also states what the TSB did, but it is harder to find.
I know you were asking for a tech (cheezit) to confirm, but this one generated a lot of arguement some time back. It is hard to dispel mis-information, so I jumped in!
