That's what I used(doesn't make it right though). Theres a thread in the tech folder on it. They said not to use brake cleaner use carb cleaner instead. I had to use a crows foot to get my EGR out as well.
It does some use brake cleaner and some use carb cleaner. I went with the carb. I think as long as you don't get all ***** nilly with it you will be ok. Just don't get any in the two holes on the bottom of the EGR.
Ford says specifically not to use brake cleaner, but to use carb cleaner instead. Some folks have had a bad enough mess that they felt that they had to use brake cleaner. I can't comment on that, except keep the fluid out of the electronics and don't leave it exposed to the shaft seal too long. I have always been able to get Carb Cleaner to work.
Yeah just pulled mine only had a light dust of carbon so just sprayed it real good and wiped it. Also when putting the egr back I'm seeing it doesn't seat all the way down. Is this ok and just put the screws back in to seat it?
