Fells good doesn't it? I always feel better about my truck when the oil is clean. I am glad you got that Fram oil filter out of there. They are not very good at filtering anything but money out of your wallet. It's amazing what good advertising can do.
Yea, just put that valve on my truck. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, still got about another 4.5K miles left until my next oil change.
But yea, just think you saved yourself about $100 because places that change oil charge usually about $150 to change oil on a diesel no matter the difficulty.
exactly... saved a grip of cash... even tho the oil cost me 72.04 with tax. thanks to ed for the filter..
would have saved 20 bucks if i bought the wally world brand of oil. and they do not sell anything motorcraft up here.. i wish!
the gf and her sister just love shoppin at all the outlet malls down in washington ill have to stock up on filters and oil next time we're by a walmart
Just did first change with Fumoto valve and love it. Never installed one on cars in the fear of shearing it off on a curb, but Supeduty is perfect candidate.
We do have to use 1 gallons recycling containers (relabeled milk jugs) and in the past using good pan and than pouring into containers was always messy job no matter how careful I was. Now it is white glove job (not for the filter) and even catching a sample for laboratory test wasn't a hassle at all.
I am sending for test samples of the Rotella that was in the engine for 10,000 miles. See if they recommend more?
I am also using Delo last few oil changes. It is a good oil and my 7.3 seems to like the Delo. I purchased (3) cases 6 gallons per case at Costco last year for $51.00 a case which worked out to $8.50 a gallon. Costco in my area has another Delo sale starting Thursday May 18th. This time it is (3) gallon jugs per case with $5.00 off. I am going to price it and see if it is a good deal.
I remember looking at that bobistheoilguy demo a few years ago when i first got my truck. I had forgotten about it though and was in Autozone the other day looking at that Lucas oil demo. I was thinking, "I wonder what that would do to my PSD? It can't be bad." I know the consensus here is NO ADDITIVES ever, now I remember why. Thanks for posting that back up Robin.
Jason,
Are you talking about that little demo thing you crank by hand? Looks good in slo-mo. Just try to get that thing up to about 1800 RPMs cranking it by hand. What an advertising gimmick that thing is.
