Greetings, Need a little help here. On top of block on the rear right side is stamped HEDJ3728. Can anyonr help me out with this. Also is there more numbers I should be looking for? Thanks Whiskers.

how about a picture then at least we can narrow it down to what engine family it belongs to.

what year model vehicle did you find it in?

 

Went out and got some more casting numbers. Just above the starter D7TE A28 or A2B. 8 bolts on valve covers. Next to oil sending sencer is a circle with a C in it with a 8LT next to it.

I think I have 351Cleveland or 400 M Made in 1977 ofr a truck. What do you guys think? Thanks

 

351m or 400. Can't be a 351c as they were only produced '71 to '74.

Measure the stroke--4" = 400, 3.5" = 351M.

 

If it's a 351M there will be the letter M on the top front corner of the cylinder head, next to the valve cover.
