If you loosen the injector lines one at a time while its running, you should be able to isolate the cylinder/injector thats causing the knocking. The one(or more) that causes the sound to change is where to start looking.
No i mean the pitch.. not does it get faster as the engine goes faster. So youre cruising at 1500 and you floor it, does it still knock? How bout if you let completely off?

I'll test drive it to see if it changes with the accel off.
I should mention.. I'm running WVO most of the time.. 236,000 miles... Lots of white smoke on startup and sometimes smokes when idling even when engine is hot.
Knocking gets loud around 1500... Foot off the pedal, noise continues until engine slows to around 1200 then the noise fades into the background noise. If pushing the pedal above 1500, the noise gets louder and continues.
I might just be overly sensitive and making an issue out of nothing.
