Just got my factory Ford CPS recall in the mail and was just wonderin if its worth my time? The CPS I have is still good and I was plannin on replacin it just in case and throwin the one I have in the glovebox. My question is, is the one that Ford gives you in the recall a good CPS? I've heard the whole bad grey top cps thing and was wonderin if thats the one ford gives you?

Yes, Ford gives you the gray one. I'd recommend hanging on to your black one if that's what you've got. They'll honor the recall later if it goes bad on you.

 

Yea they put the grey one in, tell them you want the one they take out back for spare. Some places will just give you the CPS & you sign something, if I'd have known that's what I would have done.

 

Or just go down and pick it up and replace it yourself that's what I ended up doin takes maybe 5 min to replace it.

 

Ok ill just try that. Go see if they will just give me the new one and throw it in the glovebox for a spare.

I'd buy a spare black (if you can find one) and throw the recall notice away.
