F1 Hub Cap Question...
I would like to eventually find a 4th cap that truly matches the good 3 I have. Hopefully someone has knowledge of what the differences mean on these caps, and can explain what I need to be looking for.
Thanks in advance......

The above photo shows the two styles ... the left being one of the 3 I had to begin with, supposedly stock originals??

The above photo shows the inner mounting rings. The left is much heavier and about 1/8" deeper.

This last photo shows the most significant difference .... the overall height.

Also, I haven't looked into it so this is just speculation, but I have noticed that a lot of things that got put on trucks were used on cars a few years earlier. Maybe the diff here is between a car and truck hub cab or different repro people.
Here's a pic of a 47 car with the same caps as out trucks:
I think you are very likely quite right about the various repro outfits having their own take on how to make these caps. I know that several outlets (Wheel Vintique being one) show these for both pickups and some cars. Some folk on the HAMB have said that certain repros don't fit well unless you also have the wheel the company sells.
I'm just hoping I can find a 4th cap that matches the 3 good ones I have. Maybe someone that has found a good cap repro will be able to match up to the photos I've provided and suggest where to get the one I need.

1953/56 F100 hubcaps (BAAA1130A or B3C1130A) look similar to 6A's, but are not as deep. This is why the OP has a mis-matched hupcap. The FORD letters were painted red.
These hubcaps were not used on Passenger Cars.
Early '47 Passenger Cars look just like 1946's, have rectangular parking lights mounted on the fenders above the grille. The grille bars have indented scallop lines which are painted red.
The hood front emblem, hood ornament and side mouldings are also different. See page 79 in the Standard Catalog, two early 1947 Sedan Delivery's are pictured. The 'front clip' is the same as the cars.
1946/early 1947 hubcaps have FORD block letters in red with three red hash marks above and below. These hubcaps were also used on 1946/47 Sedan Delivery's.
I once owned two early '47 Woodies, an early '47 Deluxe Club Coupe, an early '47 Sportsman and three '56 F100's.
So my guess about the difference between cars and the later trucks was pretty lucky!
And the shallow one is the F-100 hub cap - that's interesting! Was there a reason for that?

Thank you!! Somehow I am not at all surprised that you have sorted out all this fun with the hubcaps. At least now I know what to look for, which is a lot better than guessing!!
You should write a book on all this kind of detail stuff that hardly anyone else knows. I'd buy one for sure!!
